A set of council minutes for the Apopka Negro Business League's July 2, 1945, meeting. This typewritten slip of paper might have been distributed as a newsletter throughout Apopka's Black business district. The minutes detail that the council voted to request that Apopka Utilities lay a larger water main leading into the colored section, starting down Central Avenue to 9th Street (now Michael Gladden Boulevard and then east to Park Avenue. The water main would have connected to two fire hydrants to be installed for the protection of the residents and of the Consumer Mill property.
